Helen Cammiss is an artist working in acrylics, stick media, gold leaf and clay.

'My artistic range embraces numerous media in a visual unity of form, surface and silhouette, with my motivation being an ongoing desire to assimilate the visual disciplines and make sense of the world I see.'

'My work is an expressive and abstracted response to a combination of things: my close observation of the natural world, knowledge of mythical subject matter, deep religious examination and ongoing research into the History of Art.

I want my work to be anchored in the present day but to reach back in time to the earliest artistic manifestations in history and prehistory where animals symbolise the sacred and spiritual.'
